Boundary, right of way, high hedge and party wall disputes have a habit of costing far more than the land in question is worth, and they can make a property difficult to sell. The aim is usually to resolve it, in writing and permanently, rather than to win. Tell us about the dispute and we'll find an SRA-regulated solicitor who handles boundary and neighbour cases.
Firms that have verified their listing with us come first. To see which firms fit your problem, describe it in the search box.

Title plans show general boundaries, not precise lines, which surprises most people. The answer usually comes from historic conveyances, the physical features on the ground, and evidence of how the land has been used and maintained over time. A boundary surveyor is often as important as a solicitor.
Under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 certain works, including building on the boundary and excavating near your foundations, require notice to be served on you first. If it was not served, the work may be unlawful and you may be able to stop it. Respond to any notice you do receive rather than ignoring it.
Possibly, through adverse possession, but the requirements are strict and the rules differ depending on whether the land is registered. Ten or twelve years of exclusive possession may be required along with an intention to possess. Keep any evidence of how long you have maintained it.
Yes. The standard property information form asks about disputes with neighbours and you must answer honestly. This is precisely why resolving matters properly and in writing is worth more than winning an argument.
